• The 300 ft range is the the distance the camera can be from the base station. You can set the motion detector to as far or close as you want. Don't know exactly how far it can detect motion. If I set the motion sensitivity on high, it records when something comes in camera view, like every dog, rabbit, bird and kid it sees. That was too much for what I needed.

• 300ft means with no walls, clear day, no sunspot events and no other wireless AP's around. Real world is about 175Feet to be honest.
