Here is what I experience, yes you can have both push and email at the same time. It seems push notifications only work if you leave the Arlo App running in the background on your device. If you log out of the App you lose push notifications. Push notifications do make a sound as long as your notification volume is on/up. You will always get email notification if you you have it on in Arlo and have an email notification alert sound set up on your device (cell phone?). I do not get a tone for emails (thats turned off on my phone) but do get a tone for Arlo notifications on my cell phone...when I leave the app running. You can also do all kinds of things with IFTTT and email alerts. Although it seems pretty slow. I tried to turn on my Hue Lights when I got an Gmail from "Arlo Alerts". It worked but it was like 5 minutes from email to IFTTT trigger and lights coming on. Too long.
