Is this modam compatible with the optimum?? null

Yes. Call them and tell them you want to buy your own modem and save the $4.95 monthly charge. They will email you a list of compatible modems and this should be on the list. It is best to take pictures of your modem front and back with all the connections - telephone line etc, go to BestBuy and they will tell you which one you need at the store. After you buy it, simply plug in the wires from one modem to the other and then call Optimum and give them the MAC# on the modem you bought. They will then program your modem at their end so they can send you the signal. Quite simple.

Works fine in Brooklyn for Cablevision Optimum phone and internet.
