A:AnswerTM822R is a cable modem that provides the telephony support and you can connect your wireless router to it for Wi-Fi capabilities. For comcast TV, you would need a separate digital cable TV box
A:AnswerI can't say for sure but if you don't need voice then I would suggest you have a lot more choices. I have my phone through Comcast so I had to have a telephony modem. There are fewer choices in telephony modems. I would suggest you visit your local Best Buy and talk with an associate in the modem department. I found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful. You need to think about your internet speed not only now but in the future. The TM822R can only handle 343 Mbps which is fine for me since I only pay for 250 Mbps. I am saving $13 a month so it should pay for itself in 7 months. Remember that you will need a router for wifi. Best Buy will advise you on the best router but I would recommend the orbi. I purchased the orbi mini and placed my xfinity modem in bridge mode. I am amazed in the difference in wifi speed. I used Speedtest and was getting 60 Mbps in the back bedroom of my house with the door closed. At Christmas, my son was not able to stream in that room. I highly recommend orbi.
A:AnswerYes this works with WOW. HOWEVER talk to Tech Support FIRST on the phone option. Give them the Model Number to verify and get the Tech Support name day date time. When I called to confirm some questions regarding activation by general Customer Service I was told home phone would not work with this. I told them it is DOCSIS 3.0 designed for internet and home phone VOIP which is what I have with WOW. When asked "why" I was told "that's just the way it is." The CSR should have talked to or transferred me to Tech Support. I was given a $10 a month price reduction for one year though so I can't complain too much. Later I called Tech Support to find out why this would not work with home phone and even if I got a technical answer I would not understand it would at least be better than "that's the way it just is." I told Tech Support what happened gave them the model number they checked and confirmed this would have worked with home phone. DUH! After my one year discount I will call Tech Support FIRST to verify everything THEN Customer Service THEN get the modem. BTW I was told >I < would have to return the modem to WOW . Luckily there is a WOW office very close to me.
A:AnswerYes it works with Mediacom for internet, but I couldn't get the phone service to work. They will have to send out a technician at some point to see about fixing it.
A:AnswerIt certainly works with a wireless router. I doubt it works with Frontier or Dish. Do not use a different power supply; use the one that comes with the new modem.
