I have this modem paired with the same router. I only have 10m service and use 9 devices thru the router with no issues. I have Fidelity internet service. The modem has been very reliable for me. In a month I have not had to reboot it any. I had a Motorola before and had to reboot it everyday. I first bought a Netgear modem docsis 3.0 for about the same price and Fidelity could not connect to it. Fidelity had no problems connecting to the ARRIS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For gaming, the well known Puma 6 latency issue (tl;dr version: Your button presses can be randomly delayed by up to a second due to a design defect in this modem) will literally kill your character. Do some Googling then look elsewhere.

Just run speedtest.net and check your speed. If you are able to get 150 mbps then there is no sense in upgrading the modem. And yes matters between DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.0 if you have 1000 mbps service or greater. If you dont have at least 1G service the modem will only run at DOCSIS 3.0 speed.
