You will need to get a Solid State Hard Drive to get a faster hard drive. There is not any other option. SSDs are much faster overall and have better dependability and performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I upgraded the harddrive to ssd drive watch 2 ribbon cables when taking off the back,i would have had to take laptop completely apart to reach memory, asus should put two doors on bottom for hard drive and memory, look at youtube videos,i took apart an old asus and was not worried about breaking the ribbon cable, when I upgraded this one I left ribbon in place and moved the bottom a bit,if you use creative windows tool to load windows 10 you need a mouse as asus track pad does not work, also screen went black on battery,so I had to plug into hdmi cable to tv to get brightness back up on battery
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A SSD would speed things up some, but this unit is what it is and 1: you would probably void the mfgr warranty by opening it. 2: Next time your shopping I would invest in a unit with a faster processor,an ssd and standard HD, ram etc If your not in a hurry you can shop around, catch a sale, closeout etc. The techs always changing I use SSD's as USB drives. This unit recognized the ssd immediately, on another Laptop, I had to modify disk management, and use Easus Partition master, (free) to assign the drive. Speed varies depending on ssd etc
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The pre-installed 5400RPM hardrive is adequate to run WINDOWS efficiently. However, this can be upgraded to a SSD in order to improve or enhance system performance.
