A:Answer The battery CAN be removed but you must essentially take the laptop apart. The battery is not EASILY removable... the word EASILY is the key word to pay attention to.
Most folks will likely be stuck having to recharge the battery constantly than having the (industry standard for many years until now) convenient option of swapping out the discharged battery with a separate, fully charged battery. This 'con' will likely affect users that extensively travel (you never know when you will be near a power outlet).
This is done by way of pushing a few 'release buttons' that will eject the battery. Because this laptop is considered a 'budget' laptop, not having the ability to 'easily' remove the battery is obviously a way in which Asus is able to cut costs, therefore lowering the retail price. I'm not a fan of internal batteries, but I also don't have the ability to create/build a laptop in my basement from the ground up... so we're stuck with the tech downgrades that are now sadly coming into the marketplace.
