I bought this on 11/25/15. Since it only had 4G of ram, I bought 4G more ram and gave it all to the geek squad. They called me and said this model will not recognize ram installed in the expansion slots and the factory 4G is soldered directly on the motherboard. They tried several different types of ram and same results. If you want more ram, you will have to get a different model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.4GB RAM DDRL3 1600 is welded onto the motherboard; one slot is available for up to 8GB upgrade; i will probably upgrade since RAM is so cheap, but for routine tasks and the internet, the 4GB has been very adequate
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1 slot available to add up to 8 more. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IH4B9U6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3J41OHN966LCN&coliid=I1XQUS3PS13VAJ this works for another 4 gb. having 12 total is unnecessary for everything else this computer does. my gaming rig with a 980ti has 8gb of ram and doesn't ever get 75% used.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are 4gb soldered onto the motherboard and it has one empty slot. Best Buy sells an 8gb stick that works with this laptop to upgrade to 12.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 4 GB is embedded onto the motherboard. there is another slot available easily through a trap door on the bottom which is easily accessible. you can put upto a 8 GB ram in there for a total of 12 GB.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.4 GB was permanently attached to the board. Asus provides one slot for memory upgrade. You just has to buy low voltages 8GB Ram.
