Yes up to 8 GB, you could do 2,4,8 no more than 8 GB since you have the original 4 GB soldered and it will do a total 12G (maximum) but if you add 2 GB you will have a total of 6 GB, good luck

You can if it is the same spec: 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM 1600 (PC3 12800) , though I would rather spend about $45 and put in 8GB to max it out at 12GB

The free slot can take up to 8gigs ram. Be aware of the ram specs needed: DDR3L-1600, PC3-12800, SO-DIMM, 204 Pin, 1.35V, CL11. Best Buy doesn't seem to sell this type, unfortunately, so you'll need to go elsewhere or online.
