Is this laptop too heavy for day to day use? null

It depends on what you're used to and what you're doing. Sitting in one spot most of the day, it's perfect. Running around a lot, it might get heavy'ish. I use this primarily for home use. I use my Surface Pro when I have to run around a lot. It's funny how heavy a couple pounds can get.

I wouldn't want to haul it to class everyday upstairs and on mass transit, but it isn't impossible to take to a cafe or study group. It weighs about 5lbs and is a little thick compared to other laptops I've used, bit it's definitely portable. As an aside, I am a particularly petitely framed person so any backpack that holds it nicely is awkward on me. My boyfriend, who is much bigger and broader, said that the bags that are appropriate for it fit him well.

I don't think this laptop is too heavy for everyday use. I bought this for my daughter for college and she absolutely loves it. She plans on carrying it to class with her, and also doesn't think it's too heavy.

No it is just fine for day to day work.
