It is 144hrz with G-Sync. Although I do believe it is a TN panel and not true IPS to be able to get that fast refresh rate at the price point its at (which is probably why Asus described it as "IPS-type"). It doesn't look bad staring straight at the screen. But if you were to look at it from an angle, you can see horizontal lines. During game play, you don't notice it as much, but when you try to look for it, you'll see it. I'm considering taking it back because the lines kinda bothers me. I'm use to IPS panels. But...it is the fastest and smoothest laptop screen I have ever used. Moving windows around looks great. In game, turning left and right in a FPS is buttery smooth.
