A:Answer I had a similar question about upgrading the ram. After speaking with ASUS customer service, it seems that the "pre-installed" 4GB is actually non-removable. There is a slot to add extra ram, for a TOTAL of 8GB. So, if you bought a 8GB stick, you have a total of 12GB ram installed which is over it's max supported.
looks like all you can do is add a 4GB stick into the open slot.
