QuestionCan I remove/change the battery on this laptop myself?

- Answer It comes out with 3 or 4 screws after removing the bottom plate. Asus recommends against it but I don't see it is any different than changing RAM or the hard drive. If you are not comfortable doing those, I would avoid doing it yourself.

- Answer Both model numbers have the same hardware specification, it does support 1920 x 1080 display resolution and the battery life is approximately 4 hours.

QuestionDoes this have the Intel i7 Haswell processor? Does it have much bloatware?You responded to someone else that this laptop has the same hardware as the Q550LF-BBI7T07 model. That model says it has a 4th Gen Intel Core i7-4500U mobile processor, but several reviewers state that it has an Intel i7 Haswell Processor. Therefore, I'm wondering if it's the same with this model. The specs just say Intel 4th Generation Core i7. I honestly don't know the difference between the processors mentioned. Is an i7 Haswell faster, run cooler, run quieter, etc, than the i7-4500U (that is, if it even has a Haswell processor)? The other model says it's a dual core. Is this model also a dual core? I thought quad core was the newer and faster processor? Sorry for my confusion on this issue. I would appreciate any info you can provide. I like the rest of the specs on this laptop and that it comes with Win 8.1 vs 8, but want to get something that's going to last me several years (my current laptop has lasted seven yrs) and have specs that are going to be great now, yet still be adequate down the line as newer technnology comes out. I also read from reviewers that the Q550LF-BBI7T07 has minimal bloatware - does the same hold true for this model? What software is included?

QuestionDoes this have internal speakers (specs say external and that it comes with a subwoofer)? If so, what kind are they and how many?An external subwoofer is nice, but not very convenient for portablility. I'm looking for internal speakers with decent sound quality (ie: no worse than the average laptop). If these have internal speakers, how good is the sound quality?

- Answer It has four internal front facing speakers. The sound quality is pretty good considering that it is a laptop, but the subwoofer really helps the overall sound quality. I leave it on my desk at home because it doesn't fit in my laptop bag. Hope this helps.

QuestionWeb cam wont load when skype is open.Web cam wont load when skype is open. I can see/hear them but they can't see anything but a constantly loading grey screen. They can hear me. How do I look into this and fix it on my laptop? Not intimidated to fix myself but can't figure out how. I have no other use for web cam except skype so don't know how to test it for another use. Thank you

- Answer Yes. To maximize this go to Nvidia control panel>3d settings>display optimization or something along those lines and it should say "single display performance mode" or multi. I believe it is on multi by default but just in case it is not you can change it. You have to restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
