• As long as you plug in an external burner... sure. If you can find one that supports USB 3.0 even better.

• There is no optical drive on this laptop (partially how they have fit so much high end gear into such a light and thin package). However, usb 3 is easily capable of handling even a blu ray burner externally. This adds the benefit of using a burner when you need one, and simply unplugging it when you do not.

• No dvd player with this laptop. I personally think it's worth the payoff..unless you plan on doing, well dvd/cd burning.

• With an external DVD-RW drive, yes. There is no included optical drive in the laptop.
