The USB-C port can be used for a lot of USB-C things.... I think it supports video output and high speed throughput of data, but it CANNOT charge the device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried several modes of display-over USB-C. This port does not support this aspect of USB-C functionality. Many hours of research later, it turns out it would never do so. The only way to achieve external monitors greater than just the single HDMI out is to purchase an expansion dock operating on the DisplayLink protocol. In simple terms DL is a data conversion protocol that uses your CPU to do grunt work conversion of Graphics data and pipe it through USB ports. I can confirm personally that the Plugable USB3.0 dock (Model#: UD3900) works for this model. I can display the native laptop screen and two external 23" monitors at 1920x1080 (extend mode, i.e. 3 unique screens). This works well for most work and rec applications including video streaming apps, but don't expect high framerate video-gaming to work in any respectable manner.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A USB-C is the industry-standard connector for transmitting both data and power.
