Separate devices. SSD can be replaced. Be aware that the OS and all programs are installed on the SSD for faster performance.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The drives are separate. The SSD is a M.2 SATA drive while the 2TB HDD is a regular 2.5" SATA drive. According to asus customer support, the M.2 slot does not support NVMe drives but that's debatable until tested.

Didn't come aware until I was checking the memory and realized I had been saving all files to the 120GB drive rather than the 2TB. But it can be transferred if you need to make room. I do not have an answer for the second part of your post. Recommend simply registering a OneDrive Cloud storage account and backing up your data on that. Depending on the amount of data you have, you may be required to pay a monthly fee if your data you need to store exceeds the amount provided to increase storage space.
