I would imagine that it would heat up noticeably hot if you have the screen totally flipped over for long periods if time running intense software. It appears the intake air vent is on the bottom side if the laptop and the two exhaust ports are on the back and left side. I use pretty CPU/GPU I intensive apps for rendering. If I have the laptop on my lap it heats up a lot as this blocks the underside air intake vents. Not excessive but wow that's hot kind of hot. If I place it on a table for a while it cools down fast. Just be aware of the intake vents and allow the machine to breathe. Doing normal things that are low cpu/gpu usage I have not noticed heat issues. Battery life goes hand in hand with CPU/GPU usage. High CPU usage will make the battery last a few hours. I always turn my battery saver on and then it lasts for 5hrs or better but that totally depends on what you do with it. I too wish it lasted longer but it's a high horsepower machine and compromises are made.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes over 125 degrees ave. and burn in om the screen , but i did buy a geek squad certified "new never used one ". lol I took it back the next day thinking that it was going up to 4ghz maybe this is normal and because of the 4k led /lcd (ips means lcd it stands for in plane switching so any one that tells you these wont burn in is lying ! So I was at B.B to get a 2 year protection plan something told me to just check the floor model 1rst and as i did i told them i just want to restart to see if i can see the icons thru the blue screen . 2 on the blue shirt workers immediately said they are led its impossible . I showed them the pics from my phone and they saw the burn they asked how long have you had it ? I said 1 day . They then said it is burn in and not normal and to return it i also asked about the temp jumping 100 degrees . Well long story short I returned it and was sad a little as it had a motherboard that i finally found out supported NVMe m.2 ssd and wanted to upgrade . But i guess someone was looking out for me because 3 days later (those 3 days i looked constantly for something similar and finally found on asus.com usa the Q536fd a step up its 4k same hdd setup 2tb 5400 and 256gb ssd m.2 but with a whisky lake i7 1.8ghz to 4.6ghz to this thing is blazing fast . I also received a nice discount from the problems i had with the Q535 so i saved about 150$ so i got this new before they even had a display out . I love it and it stays at about 28C or 87F and its on my lap now . they moved 1 fan from the side to to both rear but now the keyboard lifts like on the new vivobook pro 15 so cool air enters and the heat can leave downwards from 2 rear fans
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I experienced both. I resorted to using Intel XTU to under volt the CPU to at least conserve battery life, and I've also set my battery saver to 10% brightness. At that point, there won't be any work that can be done. I also did not like the pen experience. It's not a good device to draw on.
