A:Answer I'd skip the Q534UX, UX501VW, and N850VD at minimum. These models are known to use PenTile RG/BW, not-true-UHD displays. They don't show you the full detail of the resolution, but still make you deal with Windows DPI scaling (yes, Adobe apps give you a tiny UI unless you use a registry workaround). You also run the risk of receiving a Samsung-manufactured panel with mediocre contrast, mustard yellows, and only ~70% sRGB, instead of an LG panel with 90%+ sRGB. The attached photos demonstrate the incomplete matrix, and the sidebar on http://reddit.com/r/SuggestALaptop/ contians more information about this.
It isn't known whether this Q535UD model exhibits this same issue, so be aware of that before you decide to buy, research how to tell the issue once you receive the laptop, and please post feedback online here or somewhere once you have determined whether the UHD is true or not.
If you want the UHD resolution, the following models use the real deal:
- Lenovo Yoga 720 UHD
- Lenovo Flex 5 UHD (be aware: FHD model has low sRGB)
- Dell XPS 15 UHD
- HP Spectre x360 UHD
If you're fine with FHD 1920x1080, the following models have high sRGB IPS FHD displays
- Lenovo Yoga 720 FHD
- Dell XPS 15 FHD
