This laptop has three USB 3.0 ports, and no dedicated USB 2.0 ports. the xHCI specification that defines USB 3.0 should allow for an EHCI (2.0) handoff, but not all devices like this. Rather than replacing your laptop, you might consider replacing your printer. As to the keyboard, screen and power configs, I too switched from a Q551 to the new Q552 and I have noticed they keyboard is higher quality. I run Linux rather than Windows, so I can't speak to the power management (it was great on the 551 and continues to be on the 552) but the screen dimming is actually a "feature" in Windows 10 called "auto brightness". Search for that in Settings and turn it off and your screen will stop doing that. The Q552 will do the same thing if you leave it enabled.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, Integral USB 3.0 Flash Drives and card readers are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. The USB 3.0 Flash Drive or card reader will work at the speed of the port, for example if you use a USB 3.0 Flash Drive in your USB 2.0 laptop, it will work at USB 2.0 speed.
