It was relatively easy. Opening the case is very easy - take out all the screws and pop off the back cover revealing everything. There are helpful youtube videos that show this. There are no extra bays so you will need to do the clone with an external cable or by using a DVD replacement hard drive bay. I bought a Samsung EVO 512 GB SSD and their software would not clone it on Windows 10. I ended up buying Acronis TrueImage (need version 16) and it was quick and easy. The SSD made it super fast! I believe it was a 2.5" 9mm drive.
