However, you may have to adjust your audio hardware settings on your computer. The steps can be found with a simple search. It usually consists of 'hardware and sound' or 'device manager' usage to change the properties. Mine was plug-&-play, and was able to be turned off via pc settings.

Just because your graphics card or laptop has an HDMI port, does not necessarily mean that you are sending out audio over HDMI. So I would test out your device/ read documentation / check it out with your laptop manufacturer if that feature is important to you.
