It will work for 60hz but in order to take advantage of the 144hz you will not be able to use hdmi. A hdmi 2.0 cable wouldn't even be able to run 144hz unless it's plugged into a hdmi 1.4 or higher port which if it had that port it would support 144hz over hdmi natively.
