Difficult to say, it really depends on the distance from the router to the family room. If it’s 20 feet or less I’d say you’re ok. More than that and it will be spotty. Make sure you connect to the 2.4 ghz signal as it is stronger than the 5 ghz signal. 2.4 is stronger, 5 is faster and can handle more data.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We placed this router in the back bedroom where there are walls, doors and a hall. My bedroom is on the other side of the house and have no problem with slowed internet, NETFLEX, HULU, etc. as we have had in the past with our previous router.
