It depends, the early 2016 had DDR3 and the late 2016 / 2017 have DDR4. You have to check what your buying.

This desktop features DDR4 RAM.

All the ones at my Best Buy used DDR4 memory, but there are some of this model that use DDR3. Just check the outside of the box carefully.
