Does this adapter work on a wired pc? null

It works the same as any WiFi card; if a wireless connection is available you can disable the wired connection and connect to the wireless network. This adapter provides 2G and 5G connectivity as advertised.

I can't guarantee, but it did work on my son's computer

If you are referring to a desktop, you can connect it via USB Port 2.0.
