A:Answer I have not tried using this adapter on Windows 8. That having been said, because this adapter plugs directly into the PCI-E slot, and Windows will always ask you during installation if you want it to search for the newest driver, it will search Microsoft's website for a driver. If a driver is found, the adapter will work.... The included software isn't necessary for the proper operation of this adapter. The included software will ask you if you want to use it or Windows to operate your adapter. As a matter of fact, I'm ONLY using Windows to operate this adapter! I hope this has been helpful.
