- Answer Yes. Several distributions of Linux are available in the Microsoft Store, so Windows 10 S mode should "play nice" with these Linux distributions. Just be sure that the solid state drive of this laptop is designated as the C:\ drive, which I assume it is as there is not another hard drive in this laptop. You could also switch out of Windows 10 S mode to Windows 10 Home, and install a Linux distribution which is not found in the Microsoft Store, if you wished.
