The RT-N66R will work as long as you have this after a modem. This is not a combo modem/router so you will still need a modem, either from your ISP or otherwise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This router will work with ANY input sent to it from a functioning modem. Just plug the cat5 cable from your modem into the Asus's input and you are ready to freaking rock. If you are talking more about one of those old school goofy usb modem cards that you put into the side of a laptop or desktop if you live in the middle of the woods, then you will need to set up that laptop or desktop to "share" it's net connection, and then you'd hook a cat5 cable from that laptop or desktop into the Asus's input and you can share it with the rest of the devices in your off-the-grid mountain-top cabin
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had no problems using it with hughesnet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hughesnet has nothing to do with the router, they just provide the internet connection and the router is just a way to connect all of the devices to the internet.
