Sorry you are having this and i did just buy it a few weeks ago so im not sure if perhaps it came out of the box that way or after much use, which means i better pay attention to mine. Ive had good experience with Asus laptops and my last one is still alive amd can be used and is an Asus Republic of Gamers, G51. Its over 10 yrs old.

• A:Answer One of the things I was looking for was, was plenty of ports for addons. This unit has 2 USB3s, 1 USB2, 1 mini USB, and a full sized HDMI. I do think hat for a external graphics, (depending on the speed and exact use) I might want 8GB instead of the 6 this has.

• A:Answer Doesn't come with office. You have to get that separate. It has antivirus but that also isn't a long lasting. You'll have to renew it. Depending on which one you get it's a month to a year. I would say get Norton Antivirus installed that way you're covered

• A:Answer Yes, I was able to do it but it wasn't as easy as other laptops I've worked on. The HDD has a weird shielding with some kind of adhesive on it. If you're somewhat knowledgeable with computers and laptops it shouldn't be all that tough. I was able to do it in less then an hour. Keep it mind you have to clone the drive. I did that using my desktop.

• A:Answer You really don't need to add one at all. It's only going to allow the machine to boot slightly faster when turning on. Once it's up and running the applications you are running wont run any faster than the standard drive that's equipped with product. Save your money. Buy an external DVD/CD drive to listen to music and watch videos for as little as $24.00 as I did today.
