• Sata III is older tech. M.2 Sata is newer. You should get better performance with an M.2 Sata drive (of course depending on the SSD/drive as well.) Hope this helps you.

• This model unit does not have extra SATA III bay to add a SSD. It only comes with 1TB 7200RPM storage. Please be advised that it might void the warranty if anything gets damaged on your unit.
