The answer from ASUS is only partially correct. You can replace the 1TB standard HDD with an 850, but you can NOT replace the stock m.2 SSD with an 850. The reason for this is that the 850 series of m.2 are SATA III, which for some dumb reason ASUS decided not to support. They only support PCIe m.2 SSDs. Which means you have to go with the 950 series to replace the stock SSD. But oh wait. Another issue. The BIOS in this model is bugged. You will be forced to run in RAID mode, you can't switch to AHCI. So even if you get the 950, you will not get the full performance because the Samsung NVMe driver utility does not recognize the drive in this notebook. Its missing UEFI too. This model is in need of a major BIOS patch
