While there is no benchmarking of the Z1 chip yet vs the Z1 Extreme the integrated graphics has 4 RDNA3 cores vs 12 cores on the Extreme, for reference the Steam Deck has 8 RDNA2 cores. Expect a large performance drop off for this model, below that of both the standard Z1e RoG Ally and the Steam Deck. With only $100 savings off a $700 device, I would not recommend getting this version, you are losing 66% of the GPU cores. Just wait and save the last $100.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My experience the z1 is typically 35-40fps for most AAA games. Z1 extreme is typically 40-55fps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My experience is 720P 30 FPS for many AAA games, but some it just cannot get there. Like Forza Motorsport is not good on the Z1 at all and it looks horrible just to get it to run right. Forza Horizon 5 on the other hand looks okay, but maxes out around 36 FPS. With the Z1 extreme, you’re getting 60 FPS with 1080P. There really is no comparison if you want this thing to run well into the future as it is already tapping out with several games.
