Q: QuestionAsus website says this one has PCIe x4. But Bestbuy specsheet says it has no PCIe slot. Can I use 2.5"PCIe ssd and m2 PCIe in this laptop?

• A:Answer In fact, M.2 SSD are classified into PCI-Express-based and SATA-based SSDs. And i just got the review on G501VW from gaminglaptopsjunky.com, which seems to be reliable. Storage HDD : HGST 1TB HGST HGST HTS541010A7E630 SSD: None M.2 slots: M.2 SATA or PCIe/NVMe 2280 (one) According to the provied storage information, it explicitly indicated that G501VW is compatible with both SATA-type M.2 and PCIE-type M.2 SSD(BTW the latter is more powerful and expensive). Just remember you should pick the 2280 size. (M.2 SSD are classified as 2242, 2260, 2280 in size )

Q: QuestionDoes it have a asus official global warranty?Seems asus officially provides a global warranty for their ROG series, but i'm not sure for the version sold by Best Buy.

• A:Answer You would need to talk to the manufacturer about the coverage of their own warranty. As far as I know, the manufacturer warranty that comes with a product sold by Best Buy will cover service performed in the US. You should have the option to purchase a Geek Squad Protection plan that does offer limited international coverage. Thank you!

• A:Answer All metallic. They are durable and the screen feels solid. But the body and keyboard are like fingerprint magnets. Very easy to get marked and difficult to clean. If that bothers you, then avoid this.

• A:Answer Used it for about two weeks now. No big problem so far. Small issue: The body and keyboard are fingerprint magnet. They are very difficult to keep clean. The laptop makes some very low whining noise during normal using. This is a common problem for many other laptops so its not a defect of this particular laptop.

• A:Answer This model comes with a 1 tb HDD that is 2.5" 7mm SATA. You can replace that with a similar size SATA SSD. There is also an empty M.2 SSD slot. It is a 2.5" PCIe x4 NVMe. The third empty slot in the middle is an empty RAM slot.
