“On the product details it shows to have a 2tb ssd but when I look at system storage it shows a little less than 1tb. Why is this? I just unboxed and downloaded maya”

Do you show a second hard drive? Apparently this desktop comes with both m.2 slots filled - with one 1 TB drive each, for a total of 2 TB. In any event the total space on all SSD volumes should total roughly 2 TB between used and free space.
