QuestionHas anybody successfully used Aura Sync to sync any peripherals with this laptop? I have an ROG Gladius II mouse, but the Aura Core software does not detect it.

- Answer You need to use the ROG armoury or Aura app (not aura core) to control the peripherals in sync. If they’re not detected, look for the refresh/recycle icon in top right, and make sure they aren’t shown as unlinked (red), if so, click the link icon and hit save/apply

- Answer Mine doesn't do that. It could be the hard drive as it's next to the keyboard.

QuestionWhat type of performance gains were observed during the overboost fan mode?

- Answer With overboost mostly kicks the fans up so that you do not thermal throttle as quickly/as much. I have noticed the bench marking with overboost will kick the score up just a hair.

- Answer I bought is at $1300, it went down to $1250 before 2 weeks were up and I got $50 refund. That was about a week ago. If it were me, I'd just keep checking on Sundays when the price changes. It seems to me that the price drops often enough -- for $1300 this is a GREAT laptop, it has high specs, and is uogradable. It's worth the wait, if you are able. Whenever you buy it, check the price changes before 15 days are up, if the price drops you can get a price match. Good luck.

QuestionMy GU501GM boots into the bios (always) . Windows recovery disk doesn't recognize any instance of windows (cannot recover, repair, clean install, revert, etc.)...but I can see both drives, all files, and folders via boot disk command line. Any ideas??

- Answer You need to turn off Quick boot, and turn off Security in the Bios. It was a pain to get re-installed, but after truning off all Security...it finally popped up as USB Device.

QuestionThere is a very high pitched noise that also screeches sometimes when I plug in my earbuds in the audio/mic jack. It's unbearable/super annoying for me and makes me consider returning it. Has anyone found a solution other than external usb or bluetooth?

- Answer If you are plugging in external speak or earbuds .. turn the volume down on the laptop first … if external powered speaker do the same … that will solve the problem to some extent.

- Answer The internal storage bays are: 1x M.2 NVMe M-key - will accept only M-key and B+M-key NVMe drives (NOT SATA3) up to 512GB size 1x SATA3 2.5" "standard" notebook drive back The UEFI can be configured to boot either from the M.2 bay or the SATA3 bay.

QuestionWhat does fan overboost do give me an example and a picture please

- Answer It's in the ROG software that will ramp up the fans if the Laptop is getting too hot. Silent mode - The laptops fan is really quiet and you can barely hear it. I use this mode in class so the laptop doesn't get too loud while I use it. I've gamed at this before but only Minecraft and it worked just fine. Balanced mode - This is just a balance between the other modes. It will ramp of the fans if its needed but otherwise it will stay silent. Overboost mode - This will run the fans at almost full speed most of the time. This mode I use when I'm playing a really intensive game or playing VR.

- Answer You take that code and go to https://www.asus.com/us/site/call-of-duty/, you send the code to asus along with pictures of your receipt etc and then ASUS will send you the actual game code that you will then enter on battle.net to redeem your copy of call of duty black ops 4.

- Answer For school, you should get a laptop that has a battery which will last all day. You don't want to have to worry about charging your laptop every 3 hours, and the weight will get to you after a long day. Look at getting a Lenovo Carbon X1.

- Answer You can look up a teardown of the laptop, Ozzymandiaz has a great tutorial of how to take apart the laptop, and then after you're inside of it you can just google how to clean laptop fans and you'll be good
