• Technically it is active all of the time, but it is not like a Nintendo 3DS. It only does 3D when the graphics card tells it to. Example is when you put in a 3D movie.

• 3d is used with 3d glasses (sold separately) and needs to be activated in the nvidia control panel to use, otherwise it's a standard monitor

• 3d vision is optional but actually is turned on or off your Nvidia settigs on your PC.
