PC Gaming. The superb refresh rate is lost on a console. HDMI can only transmit 60mhz, so the 144+ this monitor offers is wasted.
You will see a negligible improvement compared to console gaming on a TV. The response time will be faster than you are used to, but the gsync capability (main selling point) will not work with current consoles.
I use it for both. Since FPS is locked at 60 on consoles you really don't notice that much a difference but the response time is definitely noticeable
Without getting higher fps or refresh rate it would be pointless to spend this much money for a console monitor however it still looks beautiful regardless on my Xbox one and my pc.
the console has to support display port or HDMI 2.0 and is capable of producing over 60 frames to see any benefit. Chances are you won't get that from consoles yet and are better off looking for high quality 4k display instead.
Get a freesync monitor or tv for console
Strictly for PC ....Previous answer wrong tho...the high frame rates this monitor can handle, IS achievable...not thru HDMI but rather the Display port cable
Pc
It definitely works for console as well, making my games look nearly as excellent as PC!
bought this for my son because he said it was a good gaming monitor.
