It has 8GB soldered and 8GB from SODIMM. You can check it here with the same model. You can have at most 40GB but will loose some dual channel performance. https://www.excaliberpc.com/configurator/configure.html?id=749308#gallery-2
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure why people keep saying this has 16gb soldered and one sodimm slot free. Asus has a ton GA503 variants on its websites across the different regions, but virtually none of the GA503QR’s (the QR means 3070 gpu version) have a 16gb soldered and free sodimm slot configuration. They’re all either listed as 8gb soldered + 8gb sodimm, OR 16gb soldered + 16gb sodimm. In fact, Asus only lists two GA503 configurations as available at the time of this response. One is a 3060 version, and the other is a 3070 version, which matches the Best Buy specs above exactly. That’s the GA503QR-HQ115T model on Asus’s website, and it clearly says 8gb soldered on board and 8gb in sodimm slot. https://rog.asus.com/fi/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.after getting this laptop, it has one 8GB soldered on, and one removable 8GB. I put in a 16GB for a total of 24GB, I wonder if I can put a 32GB+8GB to have 40GB?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It seems like this particular model, and all 3070 models have 8GB RAM soldered on and an additional RAM stick that you can swap for a 32GB (40GB total) Source: ASUS just updated their website: https://rog.asus.com/no/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec/ What sucks is that even if you upgrade to 40GB, dual channel is limited to 16GB!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On this link: https://rog.asus.com/fi/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec (site is quite a mess and some data is just missing) the models GA503QM-HN125T, GA503QR-HQ017T, GA503QR-HQ008T, GA503QR-HQ092T, GA503QR-HQ115T have 8GB RAM soldered. Max Capacity of RAM is 24GB. Models: GA503QS-HQ004T, GA503QS-HQ021T, GA503QS-HQ071T and GA503QS-HN072T have 16GB DDR4 on board. On this site: https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec the models GA503QM-HQ120R, GA503QM-HQ121R, GA503QR-HQ098R, GA503QR-HQ099RS have 16GB RAM on board. Max Capacity of RAM is 32GB. Also QM models are 3060, QR should be 3070 and QS 3080. On the second link QR models have 16GB soldered, but on the first link only QS (3080) models do. There is no single word about this BB model (GA503QR-211.ZG15) anywhere. And it is one of those 8GB soldered model. That should be the reason for cheaper price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One RAM (16GB) is soldered. The website lists "16GB DDR4 on board" for tech specs. https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One is certainly soldered on. Whether the 16GB config here has an 8GB module soldered and an 8GB stick or a 16GB soldered in with one free is unclear. The website says up to 48GB which indicates that at least the high end configuration has a 16GB soldered on but that one ships with 32GB total. I hope but don't anticipate a 16GB soldered slot with single channel from the factory, but it's very likely 8 which limits this to 24-40GB non-dual channel or 16GB dual channel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got in touch with ASUS support and they claim that it is 16gb soldered, with one extra slot that can be upgraded to support 32gb of memory. Though I'm not sure how much I trust the customer support rep to be speaking to this device in particular vs the lineup in general.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on where you look. The official website says soldered but other site say upgradeable
