Based on your question, I presume this is a wired connection using a USB slot. I had the same issue when I plugged my controller into the Type-A USB slot, it would throw the same error. You will need to connect to one of the USB Type-C slots instead. If you don't already have one, get a USB Type-A to Type-C adapter cable. BB sells them for about $10 but I've seen them on ebay for as low as $2 with free shipping (go figure). Anyway, switch to the C port and your controller will work fine with no errors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cannot use Xbox controller in the type-a usb slot. It's not your machine or your controller. Don't know why but here is the work-around that fixed the problem for me: Plug the controller into one of the type-c slots. Works fine with no errors in the type-c port. You will need a A to C cable. About $10 at BB or less that $3 on ebay
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use a generic Xbox One controller (PowerA) and it works fine. I wonder if it's something with the oem controller? On BIOS 408 currently, Windows 10 x64 Pro.
