Depends on the fan profile. It will go down to 2.4 in silent (low fan from mode) on battery But on performance it will hold 3.0+ even with the gpu going full tilt On turbo CPU will all core turbo to 3.8 - 4 on a sustained load while plugged in. But the fans will definitely be audible. (Turbo is only enable able while plugged in)
