A lot of laptops will shut down or go into sleep mode when unplugged. You can change the sleep settings in the control panel, but if the battery is drained and the laptop is unplugged it will still shut down. I have had no issues losing my internet connection with this machine unless the router is out of range or not reciving a signal.

If you like windows Apple is smart enough you can install Windows on a Mac. Run the Apple OS and Microsoft OS on the Same computer. Not only that Macs are virus free and run faster than PCs do. They may cost more but you get what you pay for.
