I don't understand what is activation? null

I am pretty sure that if you buy a Simcard for any carrier you will get the whole discount. If not, you pay the activate later price and you can use your current Simcard.

Activation refers to setting up service with a cell provider (e.g. Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, etc.). BestBuy will many times offer a lower deal on phones if you purchase the phone and activate it as a part of the process (set up service). For GSM type phones, you typically insert the active SIM card and sometimes configure the APN settings for your carrier.
