We plugged this external monitor into a USB-C port using the USB-C to USB 3 adapter on a MacBook Air. It was recognized immediately and worked without any problem.
If your MacBook Pro has a USB 3.0 port you should have no issues, you can confirm whether you have USB 3.0 by going to "About This Mac", "System Report", "Hardware", "USB" and then if necessary, scroll down in the "USB Device Tree" window to see which ports are available. "USB 2.0 Bus" is likely shown first, with "USB 3.0 Bus" at the bottom, depending on the age of your computer. This display is excellent for our application!
