• I have voicemail, too. To deactivate the recorder, on the base unit, there is a button ANS ON/OFF. Tap it until it says "calls will not be answered". The phone will work and recordings go to subscription voicemail. I hope this helps.

• If you set your voicemail to answer on fewer rings than you set the recorder to (recorder can go to 6 rings), you should have no problem using your voicemail.
