DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications. The 6 is the version.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DECT 6.0 is transmission specification for cordless phones. Prior to this new spec. cordless phones used 900Mhz frequency to communicate between the handsets and base unit. Using this frequency limited its range and was subject to interference. DECT 6.0 is a replacement standard for cordless phone system sold today. These phone systems operate at 1.9Ghz frequency which greatly reduces interference (noise, static, etc.) and increases range. I have owned a 900Mhz system in the past and now I own a cordless phone subsystem using the DECT 6.0 spec. and it's a great improvement.
