A: I can walk all the way out to the street to our mailbox, approximately 75 yards and have reliable connection.

Q: What is the quality of the speaker phone? Is it clear? And when you play back messages from the answering machine, is it loud and clear? The reason I ask is that I just purchased (and returned) a Panasonic unit because the speaker phone was awful

Great Phones
My old AT&T phones gave me great service, so when they started to get worn and wonky, I looked for new ones! The old phones lasted 7 years! New phones look good and have new features, I hope they last just as long! Easy to set up, and a short learning curve for the features, intercom is different, and push to talk is kinda tricky! we use "Roger", and "Out". Called i d announce is fun, and you can monitor the answering machine without picking up! Good feature!

Great DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless phone system
I selected the AT&T CL83484 DECT 6.0 phone system as a replacement for my aging Panasonic DECT 6.0 system because of both reviews an the large LCD display on handsets and base unit. Set up was a breeze. Just plug base unit into wall outlet. Next put battery into to handset then place on base unit and it will automatically pair with base unit. Just repeat this with each addition handset. The system automatically assigns each handset a unique number. The handset charger in not unique and you can place any handset in any charger. The number of each handset is displayed when not in use and is only needed when you want to page a specific handset. I gave it only 4 stars because I had to purchase addition handsets from the AT&T online store. Best Buy does not sell the addition handsets for this model. Also the additional handsets (form AT&T online store) do not support paging all handsets in the system (only the original four units support this mode). You can only page by specific handset number. This system is very easy to use with a logical menu system. It's very clear and noise free and the range is excellent. I can use it outside all the way to my mail box that's about 60 ft. away from the base unit. I have a dual band ( 2.5Ghz and 5.0 Ghz) WIFI network setup in my house and their's no interference between the phone system and my WIFI network. I highly recommend this product.

Phones are reliable and the sound is clear.
The phones are stylish, the sound is clear, and the reception is excellent. We have the phones located in various rooms all over the house and the reception if excellent. We do like caller ID, since we don't answer calls from numbers with which we are unfamiliar.
