QuestionI get 2 signal bars “fair” placing this unit on my window. I would like to get a stronger signal so I can use a desktop pc. It’s fast on my phone. Any recommendations? Thanks

- Answer Make sure you have "LTE All" selected in the cellular settings. Otherwise, it will tend to connect to HSPA+ and give slower speeds. The bars displayed on the device doesn't mean as much as some of the data displayed on the diagnostics page. Check the RSRQ and RSRP values for optimal signal (chart attached). Try several different areas of your house looking at these values instead of the bars on the modem. If you are still having issues, I would recommend a Wilson Electronics Wideband Directional Antenna 700-2700 MHz (50 ohm). It would require some low loss coax cable with a splitter to 2x TS9. This has proved to be pretty reliable on a setup I have done (160mbps down). The antenna, cable, and splitter can all be purchased for around $100 if the other options do not help.

QuestionI have campground property 4 my travel trailer. I get poor reception for my phone sometimes not at all . I have to go to the camp clubhouse in order to get any service . Will this work for me or do I need cable? Want to use my AppleTv WiFi for Netflix.

QuestionI have a cellular hotspot that I bought from AT&T and an unlimited data plan. It has a phone number assigned to it by AT&T so I can also plug in a phone to it and use it as my "home phone". What's the process to convert to a replacement box like this?

- Answer Hey! I also had a hotspot from AT&T that I used frequently for traveling. I decided it was time for an upgrade. I've read nothing but good things about the Nighthawk and decided to give it a shot. It couldn't have been any easier to get it up and running. All I have to do is remove the SIM card from my old device and insert it into the Nighthawk and BOOM! it was working. I didn't even have to call AT&T to transfer service. - Answer The netgear nighthawk m1 mr1100 has only 1 Gigabyte ethernet port so if you want more wired connections you would need to get a switch.

- Answer Yes it does BUT at&t will eat your lunch with International rates ... You will do much better buying a Tel-Cel SIM card and using their internet locally, SIM cards are easy to swap out in / with this wireless Modem / Router model. at&t is BRUTAL on international rates. I personally DISLIKE at&t's business model but I do like their network.

- Answer I think it could, it pretty fast for us and handles quite the load of traffic. It performance will also depend on the cellular service where your traveling through too.

QuestionWe have a cabin, very close to an AT&T tower, the only internet we have is with my cell phone, via hotspot. IF we purchase this & a separate AT&T data plan & security cameras/dvr, which need internet service to work, would this set up work? Thank you.

- Answer Yes it will work but you will run out of data too fast it’s not worth it. It’s great for checking work on your laptop and stuff like that. And make sure you turn off, at every use. Not good for downloading large games or playing videos games that need a lot mps. The service I have is 10GB.

- Answer Minimums and maximums of predicted speeds are hard to pin down on this unit, for me. However, I have 4-5 bars of service most of the time, and have it over 100mbps down and over 50mbps up with the Netgear Nighthawk mr1100 (M1).

- Answer We fulltime RV and this has worked great for our family of 4. Streaming Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ and connecting several laptops, tablets and phones has been no problem. AT&T coverage should be much better for you than sprint. I signed up with no contract through OTR Mobile for $60/month unlimited data.

QuestionUnit comes with a pre-installed micro SIM card. I plan to purchase one of the AT&T Unlimited Data pkgs on eBay for approx. $34. This requires you to know the 20 digit SIM card #. Upon purchasing the unit, does it give you this info on the SIM?

- Answer You won’t know the SIM card number until your device arrives Although you can purchase a SIM card from at&t prior to your netgear unit arriving. They cost about $5.00

QuestionI work in a building where my AT&T phone immediately goes into a "No Service" mode while I'm in my classroom. If I purchased this device, would I be able to connect my phone to it? My work cell does not have this issue because it's on the Verizon network.

- Answer This product allows you to connect cellularly to AT&T and then connect other devices to it via WiFi. If you are not getting a cellular connection with your phone, you most likely not get one with this device.
