“Is the 9.13 in width of the bottom foot or the actual shelves ? DVDs are about 5 1/2 in. and I see in some reviews that the DVDs over hang the shelves so they must be like 5 inches or less . So my question is what is the actual depth of the shelves??”

• The shelves are 4 1/2 inches deep, and the outer walls of the unit are 9 inches deep.

• The two of these I bought a few years back had shelves 5-1/2" deep, but the most recent ones have had shallower shelves, only 4-1/2" deep.
