A:AnswerIt doesn't have to be mounted against the wall. We have 2. One we mounted & one is free standing. We've had no problems with the free standing. It's on a flat surface. However, if you have small kids or were putting it on carpet, I would recommend mounting it to a wall. You could tip it over too easy.
A:AnswerI can't remember the exact amount, but it's a lot, like 110 or something. I bought 2 units to hold our dvd collection. Some of the dvds we own are complete series & some come in specialty packages. The great thing about this unit is you can adjust the shelves so you can accommodate the different sizes. This is a particle board kit. It's not solid wood, but if you have it secured to a wall it works great. It does take awhile to assemble the kit, but for the price it was what I expected. It would not hold up to kids climbing on it. For cd's or dvds it is perfect. It's a great organizer for the price. It's cheap, but it is decent for the price & it does hold dvd's. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerI purchased this shelving kit from BestBuy.com It was inexpensive shelving that you have to assemble. But it's perfect for DVD's. Holds a lot & easy to see your collection. Assembly takes a while, but the shelves are adjustable. It's made of particle board, but it does the job. Check out BestBuy.com to see if they ship to Australia Good Luck!.
A:AnswerThis really should be assembled in the room where you are planning to use it. It is large and would not be easy to maneuver to get into the room if assembled first.
A:AnswerIt took me about an hour to assemble it on my own with the use of a simple screwdriver and a hammer, no power tools used. Which could have sped up the process a bit.
