“Are there 7 or 9 shelves? The picture shows 7, but one of the previous answers indicated there were 9. Are the shelves moveable? How hard is it to assemble? Is the material particle board? Is the color in the photo the true color or is it black?”

It comes with 9 shelves. However in order to get the 132 Blu-ray discs or 114 DVDs or 261 CDs you would use 7 shelves like the picture. 3 Shelves are fixed but you can use the other shelves to make different height shelves in the event you use them for something other than blu-rays, dvds, or cds. Easily adjustable, the shelves just lay on metal pins you set to a certain height. It's easy to assemble. The one frustrating thing is the instructions don't tell you that you need to pay attention to make sure all the finished sides of the wood face the same way so I had some redos, but if I knew that going in very easy.. The back is particle board. Color is Maple not Black.
